Sun Setting Serenity

I love taking photos of sunsets. For me it’s always the most interesting light of the day and provides so many wonderful opportunities to capture some amazing colours as well.

On this particular occasion I set up my tripod on a picnic table located on the beach and took about 50 photos from the time the sun was still up until it set.

I would have been much happier if the water had been smooth as glass and provided a better reflection and the contrail from a passing airplane wasn’t in the shot but I was still pleased with the final result.

In The Beginning

This is one of the first photos I was truly happy with after purchasing my new Nikon D80. This is the first dSLR camera I have owned.

The photo was taken at Presqu’ile Provincial Park near Brighton, Ontario. This is one of my favourite locations to shoot nature photos. It was taken in May of 2007.
