Shoreline Sunset

21 10 2008

While enjoying a day off work late in September I grabbed my camera and took a walk along the shore of Lake Ontario.

It was a breezy and partly cloudy day following an earlier storm and the clouds had begun to break up enough to provide for a possible sunset photo. The sun was still fairly high but as you probably know it sinks rather quickly on the last day of September.

I managed to take a couple dozen shots with this photo being my favourite from the effort.

Cascading Waterfall

I had a craving one day to take some waterfall photos. Sadly, there aren’t many near where I live so I had to go for a drive and eventually found myself just north of Campbellford, Ontario at Healy Falls.

Located along the Trent River, the falls are located just below one of the dams. It is a favourite location for the locals to go swimming on a hot day, relaxing in the cool water as it washes over you.

I took a lot of photos that day and this is one of them. I used a slow shutter speed to help capture the motion of the water.

Driftwood By Lake

I was driving in my car near Lake Ontario when I looked in my review mirror and saw a storm coming down the lake.

I pulled over, grabbed my camera and walked down by the water and saw some driftwood that had washed ashore. I thought it would give some nice balance to the photo by placing it in the foreground.
